2 weeks until applications close
Have you entered the Centenary Institute Medical Innovation Awards yet? Applications close in just TWO weeks. We speak to last year’s runner-up Dr Stefan Oehlers from the Centenary Institute about why you should apply!
Q: How has your award helped your research?
A: The Centenary Institute Medical Innovation Award has helped increase the profile of my research. I have used the prize money to support attendance at an international tuberculosis meeting. Recognition from the award and the experience gained from communicating my research may have helped me in successfully applying for funding from the University of Sydney and NSW Health.
Q: Why should others consider entering this year’s awards?
A: The competition has an important emphasis on the communication of your research’s concepts to a broad audience. This is an important skill for early career researchers to hone for both career advancement and increasing the impact of our research beyond traditional scientific publishing outlets.
