About the opportunity
The Centenary Institute is a centre of excellence in medical research affiliated with Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney. Centenary undertakes cutting edge research into human disease, with the goal of improving our understanding of what causes disease and to translate these discoveries into clinical practice.
We are seeking applications for research-focused positions within a newly launched Centre for Biomedical AI at the Centenary Institute. Positions are full-time, Faculty-level roles located on the University of Sydney campus.
Successful applicants will have an excellent research record and will have opportunities to contribute to undergraduate and graduate education through affiliations with the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Sydney.
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Successful applicants should expect an internationally competitive salary, a generous start-up package and a first-class research environment.
The Centre for Biomedical AI at the Centenary Institute is prioritising a search for computational biologists interested in protein design and/or the development of multimodal AI approaches to advance basic and/or clinical medical research.

- a PhD in a relevant field.
- outstanding communication skills and the ability to conduct high quality research with increasing independence and to present that work in an engaging way.
- high-level problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex issues as they arise.
- a strong track record (relative to opportunities) in research, including a body of work published in peer reviewed journals.
