And the Winner is!
2017 Centenary Institute Medical Innovation Awards In Memory of Neil Lawrence 1st Prize announced at prestigious Awards ceremony. Congratulations Dr James Hudson from the University of Queensland.
Dr Hudson has been recognised for his ground-breaking work, creating human heart tissue from stem cells for cardiac repair.
The Centenary Institute congratulates all three finalists in this year’s Awards (runners-up Dr Stefan Oehlers, Centenary Institute and Dr Edwin Hawkins, the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research) it was an honour for us to have the opportunity to recognise these inspirational and humble young Australians. We also congratulate Dr Neil Bretana the 2017 People’s Choice Award winner.
